Covid sisters (clay)
Material
White clay
Dimensions
37 cm (H) x 27 cm (W) x 33 cm (D)
The sculpture COVID SISTERS was born out of the global COVID-19 pandemic, capturing a moment suspended in time. It depicts two young women locked in a poignant, almost apocalyptic embrace, each wearing a face mask—a powerful symbol of that era. In a time when physical closeness was laced with fear, this sculpture defies that distance, evoking a profound sense of intimacy and connection amid uncertainty.
I managed to restore the clay sculpture that was damaged during the preparations of the wax molds for the bronze sculpture you can see in the site.
There a couple of differences between the clay sculpture ant the bronze one as I changed and added some details in the re-sculpturing process.
This sculpture is one of a kind.
